　　The stars in the sky were twinking. Some were crowded and others were separate. Then I founk the stars didn’t have the same color. There were many colors, white, gray, light, blue, orange, and so on. They were really beautiful. At that time, the sky was like blue screen decorated with millions of bright diamonds.

　　在我们班，同学们都叫我“小翻译”。其实，我以前的英语成绩是一塌糊涂。

　　记得那一次，我的英语测试只考了58分。卷子发下来后，老师要求拿回家让父母签阅。不用说，父母看了少不了一顿打哭。没办法，我只好去求外公了。

　　“外公，我知道您最疼薇薇了，求您帮我签个字，好吗？”

　　外公接过卷子一看，眉头皱了起来。“薇薇，外公可以帮你签这个字，不过外公有一个要求。”

　　“没问题，只要您能签字，十个要求我也答应您。”

　　“从今天开始，外公和你一起学英语，谁要是没学好，就由对方处罚。”

　　“好呀，一言为定。” 我满口答应了外公的要求。心想：一个老头子了，我就不信你还能记得住abc！？

　　然而，我错了，真的错了。

　　那是一个夏天，正值高温季节。白天，火辣辣的太阳把大地烤得像个火炉。直到晚上，也没有一丝儿风，我们坐在阳台上边摇着蒲扇边谈话。唯独外公一个人聚精会神地坐在书桌前学习英语。豆大的汗珠从他的额头上滚落下来，但他顾不得这些，仍然埋头奋笔疾书。

　　突然，外公的眉毛紧锁起来，啊，原来他有一个单词背不出,急得汗一个劲地流下来。我走上前去用关切的口吻说：“外公，先歇歇吧！”“不，”外公说，“你先去吧，我写完再来！”就这样，外公翻呀查呀，渐渐地夜深了，我们都入睡了。

　　半夜里，我醒了，蒙胧中看见灯还亮着，书桌前有个背影，不停地写着什么，汗水已经湿透了背心。我定睛一看，啊，是外公，他怎么还没唾？我看了一眼挂钟，已经深夜12点多了。外公的旁边还放着只脸盆，里面盛着冷水，一条毛巾，啊，这是外公用冷毛巾来降温呢！

　　外公的学习精神深深感染了我。我暗自下决心，一定要发奋学好英语，绝不辜负外公对我的一片苦心。从这以后，我的`课余时间就和abc交上了“朋友”。在往返学校的路上，在课间休息的时间里，在完成家庭作业之后……我把所学的英语单词，一个又一个背记在心里。这一招，还是外公教我的，他说，学好英语的基础，首先就是熟记单词。一天又一天过去了，我对英语越来越感兴趣了，还时常用英语和外公进行简单的对话，英语成绩自然上了一个新台阶。

　　现在我不在害怕英语考试了，每次考试之后，老师都会在班上点名表扬我。看着同学们那羡慕的眼神，其实我心里比谁都清楚，我今天的成绩，全都是因为我有一个好外公！
