A Diary
May 20,20xx Friday Sunny
This evening I went to the KTV with some of my good friends.
This was the first time that I had been to a KTV. At first I didn't want to go. I had been in a bad mood the whole afternoon because I didn't do well in the math exam. At the KTV, everybody sang his favourite songs very happily except me. I was the only one of the audience.
I didn't dare to have a try. Because I was afraid that I couldn't sing well. Encouraged by my classmates, I picked up the microphone and sang an English song "I believe I can fly"
I have become cheerful now and above all I've regained selfconfidence. I believe that the worst enemy in one's life is oneself. I shouldn't lose heart just because of one or two failures. Because I still have chances to try.

On, I forgot to talk about our headteacher. He was a student, too.but he becaemeour teacher for twenty days. I though he was a good teacher, too. He was very handsome. I was very happy t met him. He came from Australia. It was a very beautiful country. In his class, not only we can learn many English knowledge, but also can develop our spoken English. We talked about many things. On, it was very nice.
Today is my first day to come to this university. I am very happy.

孟子轩在回答“ing.”这道问题时，也不知道他是紧张的.原因，还是真的不会，居然把正确答案的in说成了of，让我们都快发狂了——他们组是气的，我们组是笑的。只见孟子轩被一群人围在中间，在他们组同学的质问下脸涨得通红，作为另一方的我们则为他们组所起的“内讧”而幸灾乐祸的鼓掌……场面一片混乱。
由于对方的失误，使我们斗志倍增、越战越勇，最终把胜利收入囊中。
这次英语课以我们组的胜利而告终，实在是太痛快了!

I got to school very early. Our class took a special bus to Xisai Mount. We got to
the foot of the mount at 8:30.We began climbing the mount soon. On our way the air was so fresh and the scenery was so beautiful. Everybody was talking and laughing.We reached the top at about 10:00. The Yangtze River appeared in the north, and over
the river there was a great bridge. We felt very relaxed. Seeing some birds flying in
the sky, I suddenly remembered a popular poem of Tang dynasty. " Birds are flying
in front of Xisai Mount ,". I kept feeling proud of our city.

till today, the lantern festival is still held each year around the country. lanterns of various shapes and sizes are hung in the streets, attracting countless visitors. children will hold self-made or bought lanterns to stroll with on the streets, extremely excited. "guessing lantern riddles"is an essential part of the festival.
lantern owners write riddles on a piece of paper and post them on the lanterns. if visitors have solutions to the riddles, they can pull the paper out and go to the lantern owners to check their answer. if they are right, they will get a little gift. the activity emerged
during people's enjoyment of lanterns in the song dynasty (960-1279).
as riddle guessing is interesting and full of wisdom, it has become popular among all social strata.
people will eat yuanxiao, or rice dumplings, on this day, so it is also called the "yuanxiao festival."yuanxiao also has another name, tangyuan. it is small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with rose petals, sesame, bean paste, jujube paste, walnut meat,
dried fruit, sugar and edible oil as filling. tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed. it tastes sweet and delicious. what’s more, tangyuan in chinese has a similar pronunciation with "tuanyuan”, meaning reunion. so people eat them to denote union, harmony and happiness for the family.
in the daytime of the festival, performances such as a dragon lantern dance, a lion dance, a land boat dance, a yangge dance,
walking on stilts and beating drums while dancing will be staged. on the night, except for magnificent lanterns, fireworks form a
