keeping a diary in english is one of the effective ways to improve our english writing ability. compared with other forms of writing, it is shorter and takes less time. it can help us to cultivate the habit of thinking in english. if we persist in his practice, gradually we’ll learn how to express ourselves in english.
in keeping a diary in english, we inevitably run up against a lot of difficulties. in the first place, it often happens that we have trouble finding appropriate words and phrases to express our mind. in the second place, there are many idiomatic ways of saying things in chinese. and it is extremely hard for us to put them into english properly.

Today I came back from a place named “he chuan”, it’s a good place. There has some nice view like chang jiang river. I came there in two days ago. Our aunt is here. We had a good time in there. How happy I am. Yesterday I finished all the work very quick, so I have a lot of time to do myself. Sometimes finish work early is a good thing, we can have more interests to do the next work. Yesterday I came to the center of Chongqing with my mother. We came to a place named “toward the air door”. I think many people know it. This holiday is my best busy holiday for I am learning English, computer and word and I fall in the weekend exam. The Lantern Festival or Yuanxiao Jie is a traditional Chinese festival, which is on the 15th of the first month of the Chinese New Year. The festival marks the end of the celebrations of the Chinese New Year.
Chinese started to celebrate the Lantern Festival from the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 221 AD).
Like most other Chinese festivals, there is also a story behind the Festival. It is also believed that the festival has Taoist origins.
This is a festival for people having fun. On the night of the festival, people go on streets with a variety of lanterns under the full moon, watching lions or dragon dancing, playing Chinese riddles and games, and lighting up firecrackers. There is really a lot of fun for the young and the old.
Yuanxiao (glutinous rice ball) or Tangyuan is the special food for the Lantern Festival. It is believed that Yuanxiao is named after a palace maid, Yuanxiao, of Emperor Wu Di of the Han Dynasty.
Yuanxiao is a kind of sweet dumpling, which is made with sticky rice flour filled with sweet stuffing.
Yuanxiao is sticky, sweet and round in shape, symbolizing family unity, completeness and happiness.
